Best-known Jesuit?
Pope Francis, who entered the Jesuit as a novice in 1958 and was ordained a priest in 1969, is the first Jesuit to be elected pope. After his election to the papacy, Pope Francis said, "I feel I'm a Jesuit in my spirituality, i still think like a Jesuit.

Spiritual Exercise
During the 1520, St Ignatius Loyola began writing about the emotions that took hold of him while contemplating the Scriptures. Still used today, his Spiritual Exercises is a compilation of meditations, prayers and other contemplative practices. The Spiritual path laid out by Ignatius is a way of discerning God's presence in our everyday lives - and doing something about it. This sense of spirituality is what inspires Jesuits to serve where needs are greatest - East Los Angeles to school in Micronesia.
